Political Action

I have avoided direct comments regarding the latest US Political Scene for many reasons. My biases would certainly show through any attempt by me to support or deny the various candidates. There is one concern that has emerged during this contest that should be carefully considered. Sen Obama as President would present what appears to be significant difficulties for the US especially with regards to foreign affairs. Unlike the other contestants, he appears to have fairly close relations living in parts of the world that the US does not have a strong presence either diplomatically or with military forces. The US and a presumed President Obama would feel strongly the need to protect those people which would or could lead top new confrontations. It could also be argued that there would be a strong possibility of a potential enemy gaining leverage over the US through kidnappings.
