The Big Game

The big game is being played this coming weekend. I have become less of a football nut as time goes by and the pattern of play has changed. I particularly dislike the showoff nature of many of the players; how they demonstrate their success after what might be considered a rather routine score or tackle. All the bumping and jumping that the team goes through appears to be a waste of time and a false demonstration of pride.
Uncharisteristically, the big game has stayed closer to the original practices and, I prefer that style. I did not attend the Naval Academy, but do feel a certain kinships with the Middies; as well, I also respect the future course of living and sacrifice of the Corp of Cadets. All that said:

GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!!!!

What to Do

The house and yard is essentially completed. I am somewhat at a loss as to what to say or do next in this forum. I have a fairly nice BMW that I am getting improved, but, who besides me really cares? I spent more than 20 years in Military service (National Guard [4 yrs] & Navy [20+] yrs); but so have many others, and who really cares anyway how I spent my time? I have some thoughts about the present direction that our society is headed, but those thoughts are not mainstream nor consistent with any one political ideology. So, it would be difficult to stump for any one of the popular presidential candidates. I am not strongly religious, but am not an agnostic or atheist. I do believe that a study of History is important to us so that we may learn not to follow ill advised courses of action. So, what should I discuss which would be helpful, informative, and which would not alienate people who may view this?

My latest interest with regards to History has to do with the Templar's. Maybe that could be a fair subject although some of their factual and fantasized history is really quite controversial. I would appreciate hearing from others.
