OUTRAGEOUS
I am appalled at the apparent lack of protection afforded President Bush during his recent trip to Iraq. A so called journalist was allowed to be close enough to the President so that he was able to throw two shoes at him (fortunately missing him).
1. Where was the Secret Service agent who would normally have intercepted the missile aimed at the President?
2. Where was the immediate response by the Secret Service after the first shoe was tossed?
3. Why was the assailant not immediately shot during the assault?
4. Why was the President not covered and protected immediately? He continued to stand behind the podium and no one covered him or caused him to get down.
5. Why was an obvious antagonistic individual allowed into the press conference? It appears that the audience was not properly screened or monitored.
Could it be that the President's protectors just don't care anymore? I would be pleased to see a shake up in the Secret Service so that there are no more incidents such as this one. And where is the journalistic outrage over the assault of the President? Had this been President Clinton or the future President Obama; I believe that there would have been a much stronger reaction.

Good point. At the very least you would have thought there would be one agent at the podium catching the second shoe and AT LEAST two more agents in the crowd pummeling the 'reporter' into the ground.
I would have even settled for the agents pummeling the reporter.
